Background

This section provides a practical resource to those who collect in-situ oceanographic data to facilitate contribution of the data to the international community. The approach is to provide several brief, informative, step-by-step instructions for a variety of platforms and associated data types. The first article, Introduction, provides general information on data exchange issues. Subsequent sections deal in specifics related to real-time and delayed mode exchange for different kinds of data.
